Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 6, 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Rover AI desktop and web applications (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Adel Fatkhutdinov, Einzelunternehmen, Laubacher Str. 8, 14197 Berlin, Germany (“Rover AI,” “we,” “us,” “our”). By downloading, installing, or using Rover AI, you agree to these Terms and our integrated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

Payments and subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, acting as the Merchant of Record on our behalf.

2. Purpose of the Service

Rover AI is an AI-powered coding and interview preparation assistant designed to help users learn technical concepts, practice interview-style questions, and analyze their own coding workflow. It is not intended for cheating or real-time assistance during actual interviews or assessments. You remain solely responsible for how you use the Service.

3. Account Registration

To access Rover AI you must register with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.

4. License and Acceptable Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Service for personal learning and interview preparation. You agree not to:

  • reverse-engineer, modify, or redistribute the app;
  • use it for unlawful purposes;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers;
  • transmit malware or harmful code;
  • use Rover AI to provide or receive unfair assistance in live interviews, tests, or employment assessments.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate termination of your account.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Rover AI offers both free and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions provide access to additional features or increased usage limits beyond the free plan.

All payments, invoices, taxes, and subscription management are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as the Merchant of Record on our behalf. Pricing and plan details are available at https://roverai.ai/#pricing.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) unless cancelled before the renewal date.

5.1 Subscription Cancellation

You may cancel your paid subscription at any time using any of the following methods:

  • Directly within the Rover AI app by navigating to Settings → Subscription and choosing Free plan (recommended);
  • via Paddle’s customer self-service portal; or
  • by contacting our support team at support@roverai.ai.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until the subscription expires. No partial refunds are issued for unused time unless required by law.

5.2 Acknowledgment of Free Plan Testing

By purchasing a paid subscription, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • you have had the opportunity to evaluate the core functionality of the Service using the free plan prior to purchase; and
  • the paid subscription enhances access to existing features or usage limits and does not fundamentally alter the nature of the Service.

Purchase of a paid plan therefore constitutes confirmation that the Service operates in a manner that meets your expectations at the time of purchase.

6. Refunds and EU Right of Withdrawal

Because Rover AI provides immediate access to digital functionality, you expressly agree to immediate performance of the contract and waive your statutory 14-day withdrawal right under EU law.

Refunds are only issued if the app fails to function as described and the user can reasonably demonstrate the malfunction to our support team. All other purchases are non-refundable.

See our separate Return & Refund Policy for full details.

7. Intellectual Property

All software, trademarks, graphics, and related content belong to Adel Fatkhutdinov (Einzelunternehmen) or our licensors. You retain ownership of your own data and any original content you create using the Service.

8.2 Data We Collect

  • Account Data: email address and optional profile information.
  • Device and Usage Data: device fingerprint, OS type, anonymized analytics, crash logs.
  • Screenshot Data: when you trigger “Solve my screen,” your active screen image is sent securely to our Supabase function for processing by our AI model. Screenshots are deleted immediately after processing.
  • Payment Data: handled exclusively by Paddle.com Market Ltd; we do not store payment details.

8.3 Purpose of Processing

We process data to provide, secure, and improve the Service, manage subscriptions, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

8.4 Legal Bases under GDPR

  • Performance of contract (Art. 6 (1)(b))
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1)(f)) for fraud prevention and privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics
  • Consent (Art. 6 (1)(a)) for cookie-based analytics and advertising measurement, where required by EU/UK law
  • Legal compliance (Art. 6 (1)(c))

8.5 Data Retention

Screenshot data: deleted after processing. Account data: retained until you delete your account or as required by law. Usage data: retained for diagnostic purposes for up to 12 months.

8.6 Analytics and Cookies

Our landing site (https://roverai.ai), hosted on Vercel Inc., uses the following analytics and measurement tools:

  • Vercel Web Analytics — anonymous, aggregated traffic measurement. Does not use cookies, third-party identifiers, or persistent device storage. Visitor sessions are derived from a hash of the request and discarded after 24 hours.
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — provided by Google Ireland Ltd. Uses cookies to measure how visitors use the site (page views, sessions, downloads).
  • Google Ads conversion tracking — provided by Google Ireland Ltd. Uses cookies to measure whether visitors who reach our site through Google Ads complete the download action, so that ad spend can be optimized.

For visitors located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the Google Analytics and Google Ads tags are loaded with Google Consent Mode v2 in the denied state by default. We display a cookie consent banner asking you to either accept or reject these tools before any cookies are set or read. If you reject, no cookies are stored on your device; only anonymous, cookieless pings are sent to Google for aggregated conversion modeling.

For visitors outside the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, consent is granted automatically and no banner is displayed, in line with applicable local law.

We also store a single non-tracking identifier in your browser's localStorage (roverai_uid) to deduplicate the daily download counter shown on our site. This value is not used for advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking.

The desktop app uses local storage only and does not place third-party cookies.

You can manage your cookie preferences via your browser settings, or, on subsequent visits, by clearing your site data to re-trigger the consent banner.

8.7 Data Sharing

We share data only with:

  • Paddle.com Market Ltd (payment processing)

  • Supabase Inc. (cloud database & function hosting)

  • Vercel Inc. (landing site hosting and aggregated, cookieless web analytics)

  • Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion measurement, only when consent has been granted by users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, or where applicable local law does not require consent)

    All listed parties act as GDPR-compliant processors under written agreements.

8.8 Data Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data and to object to processing. Requests can be sent to support@roverai.ai. You may also lodge a complaint with the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.

8.9 International Transfers

Where data is transferred outside the EU (e.g., to Supabase or Paddle), it is protected by EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties regarding accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. AI-generated outputs may be incomplete or incorrect and should be reviewed critically.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Rover AI shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service during the preceding 12 months.

11. Termination

You may stop using Rover AI at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Exclusive place of jurisdiction is Berlin, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.

13. Amendments

We may update these Terms and the Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify users via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
